"The most general beliefs, concepts, and attitudes of an individual or group…" (ibid). Philosophy is guiding our intent (Shim Gong) toward the good. The 8 Key concepts, the 10 articles of faith on mental training, and many areas that we are studying from the teachings of the Moo Duk Kwan are excellent tools to strengthen Philosophy. In training, your first Shi Sun is an action of intent. Your intent will be much clearer when you are strengthened by the Philosophy. You will experience a good class for both your mind and body with clearer intent. Peter greeted his instructor when he arrived at the Do Jang and when he left the Do Jang. His behavior is then extended to his life beyond the Do Jang. It becomes a good foundation for him to build the Human Relations with his behavior. Peter’s intent was strengthened by the Jhoon Bee philosophy "start good, finish good." Philosophy strengthens Discipline and Respect. The intent is guiding our action. Our action will be meaningful when it is initiated by the good intent. These are some of the visible behavioral measurements of Philosophy in Action: - The person whose philosophy is demonstrated by their actions rather than talk.
- The person who is providing views based on the principle.
- The person who makes a decision based on the principle.
Do I have philosophy in my behavior?
