What is the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa?
The Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa is the process undertaken by all World Moo Duk Kwan members being assessed for 4th Dan and above. Visitors are welcome, however attendance as a Candidate is by invitation only.
Who can attend?
The Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa is a week-long training event aimed at advanced practitioners. It is most appropriate for members ranked Red Belt and above. Visitors are encouraged to attend to experience the advanced level of training, however they are reminded that the Candidates are the primary focus for the event. Students should discuss attending the event with their instructor before registering.
Attendance fee $750 USD
The Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa fee is the same regardless of whether you are attending as a Visitor or Candidate. The fee is payable in cash upon arrival at Central Dojang (before departing for the training facility).
World Moo Duk Kwan Symposium
The 2025 World Moo Duk Kwan Symposium will be held during the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. Designees will be sent additional information about the Symposium.
Youth Leadership Symposium
The 2025 Youth Leadership Symposium will be held during the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa. Youth Leader Representatives should talk to their local TAC to obtain additional information about attending the event.
What's included?
Your attendance fee includes bus travel to/from the Kye Myung Training Center, and all lodging and meals while at the center from October 13 to 19.
IMPORTANT: Transportation to/from the airport is NOT included. (See the Visiting Korea guide for how to travel to/from the airport).

The 80th Anniversary Celebrations will be held at Royal Park; a large event space next to the War Memorial of Korea (a short distance from Central Dojang in Yongsan).

What are the 80th Anniversary Celebrations?
The 80th Anniversary Celebrations are an opportunity for all Moo Duk Kwan members to come together in a celebration of Moo Duk Kwan History, Tradition, Philosophy, Discipline/Respect and Techniques. The event will consist of demonstrations by representatives from around the world, and a series of training seminars conducted by senior World Moo Duk Kwan instructors.
Who can attend?
All Soo Bahk Do, Tang Soo Do or Tae Kwon Do practitioners with lineage to the Moo Duk Kwan and its founder Hwang Kee are invited to attend.

What's included?
Your attendance fee includes viewing and involvement in the demonstrations, the formal banquet, 80th Anniversary memorabilia (including a commemorative coin and a jacket), and a full day of training seminars.
The cost for attending only Day 1 is $300 USD — (20 October: demonstrations, banquet and a commemorative coin).
Accommodation
Accommodation for the 80th Anniversary Celebrations is personal choice. Participants are welcome to arrange their own accommodation in any of the hotels that are in walking distance to Royal Park.
