Youth Leadership Project: Iceland

Dear World Moo Duk Kwan Youth Leaders

Greetings From Iceland.

I would like to share my Experience During the 2016 youth Leader Symposium that I shared with 18 youth Leaders (all of us from 13 different countries), the Ko Dan Ja Shim sa Candidates And The Officials.

Before I Arrived in Korea I knew only two things ... That my Knowledge and skills would for sure be a bit behind the other Youth Leaders and that my belt would stand out among all these Dan members.

During this week of hard, fun and rewarding training, I spent some time being shy and stressed about making too many mistakes but it didn't last long after I got to know all these Great practitioners of Moo Duk Kwan.

I have never seen Moo Duk Kwan outside of Iceland but seeing how well everyone got together and how much you support each other regardless of what Nation You come from really lighted a cozy fire in my heart and banished my Fear ... Unity was strongly Felt throughout the week and to this day.

Our time spent training together was amazing, not only was it challenging but diverse from having so many Great Masters from all over teaching us using different methods.

Although short, the time we spent with the orphans next door playing with them and sharing Candy was totally worth it, just seeing how happy and excited they all were to get so much attention, this event made us very proud of being a member of Moo Duk Kwan.

We spent a lot of time working together on the Youth Leader Project, discussing long after the sun went down about what our mission should be, we eventually agreed on that as Youth's our skills would be best used in today's media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube) to show the world what Moo Duk Kwan is without sacrificing the past, there can be no Future without the work already done by those who came before.

At the end of this trip I find myself stronger, wiser, richer in friendship, with an everlasting memory of Kimchi, 110% motivated to improve myself, and that a fractured arm is no exscuse to give up.

I set my goal high.

Thank you for letting me join you on this great adventure, sharing your culture, ideas  and friendship.
