Tomorrow is the 77th Anniversary of the Moo Duk Kwan®, founded by the Late Grandmaster Hwang Kee on Nov 9, 1945.  It is also the occasion to remember the Founder's Birthday, Nov 9, 1914.  He would be turning 108 today.  Every year, this anniversary is celebrated by mainly all the World Moo Duk Kwan® members in their home countries, from the USA, South America, Europe and Asia.  And every year, we suggest to honor the Founder and the Moo Duk Kwan® on November 9th, that each member individually or in a group, perform Ki Cho Hyung Il Bu (Basic Form 1).  If you do, post it on your Facebook site or your instagram, or Tic Tok.  Share the moment with your friends and family, in support of the World Moo Duk Kwan®, and the Founder's memory.

Many countries will celebrate and remember in their own way.  The Moo Duk Kwan® has a long and rich 77 years of Moo Do Excellence.  Maintaining the high quality standards, as set down by the Founder, has been challenging and rewarding task.  Our present Kwan Jang Nim, H.C. Hwang, right now, is in Tulsa, Oklahoma, presiding and teaching at the USA Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa.  It has been his selfless dedication to his Father's teaching and philosophy, that has maintain highest quality of standard in our art, along with the several TAC and World TAC members, and Assistants, that have been supportive of this mission to maintain the highest standards of excellence in our Art.

It has been the hundreds of Sa Boms, Kyo Sa, Kyo Bom and Jo Kyo, certified instructors,  that maintain that high standard on a daily basis.  And lastly, it has been you, the members in all four zones, of the World Moo Duk Kwan® Schools,  that step onto the do jang decks to practice daily the art of Soo Bahk Do®, in the style of the Moo Duk Kwan® School, that the Founder created in 1945.  Remember without you, there is no Moo Duk Kwan®, without your dedication to training, and respect for your instructors, there is no Soo Bahk Do® art.

Congratulations to all of you, on your 77th Anniversary year of the Moo Duk Kwan®.   May our Founder, on his heavenly birthday, rest in everlasting peace, knowing his art and style, are in good future hands.  Soo Bahk!

Please go to the Moo Yei Shi Bo website (click on the link above) to read this important article from Kwan Jang Nim concerning the 77th Anniversary of the Moo Duk Kwan®.

While there are thousands of pictures over a 77 year period of activity, it would take several weeks to share them all with you.  Therefore, while there are some photos below, I regret that I could not display photos from every member country showing some historical relation to the Moo Duk Kwan.  My apologies to those not shown here.  However, there is a Moo Duk Kwan® History website, where you can browse through the Moo Duk Kwan® collection and other contributions from MDK members.
