World Moo Duk Kwan® Announces Heritage Membership Program

Saturday, Sept 15th, 2018, in a Philadelphia township, World Moo Duk Kwan® President, H.C. Hwang, along with over a dozen Moo Duk Kwan® alumni, seniors from Tang Soo Do  organizations; along with several World Moo Duk Kwan senior members , came together to discuss the World Moo Duk Kwan Heritage Membership program.

To provide some background about this proposal, it has always been the Founder's philosophy and teaching to sustain one body of members in his Moo Duk Kwan® organization. During the 1960's the Moo Duk Kwan® organization was one of the most influential in Korea. Unfortunately, due to political pressures Moo Duk Kwan® members and Alumni diverged into different factions with some launching different organizations.

A number of Moo Duk Kwan® members and Alumni filtered into the Korean government sponsored Tae Kwon Do program and others operated independent schools and organizations teaching Hwang Kee's tang soo do martial art system while the Hwang Kee's Moo Duk Kwan® organization continued producing students highly skilled and credentialed in the Soo Bahk Do® martial art system.

Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang wants the Moo Duk Kwan® organization to continue delivering a high level of education in philosophy, history and technique, to all Moo Duk Kwan® members, alumni and supporters as it was intended by the Founder.  This meeting ended with the formation of a task force to develop this program for the benefit of all.
