I hope this message finds you and your family in good health and spirits as the 70th Moo Duk Kwan® Anniversary approaches.
With only about 7 months remaining before we begin the celebration of the 70th Moo Duk Kwan® Anniversary in Korea, the Korean Soo Bahk Do Association, Moo Duk Kwan® is working hard with preparations to receive brothers and sisters of Moo Duk Kwan® from around the world and assure your most pleasant experience while the 70th Anniversary Committee members are promoting global awareness of the opportunity to attend this once in a lifetime event.
I extend my personal invitation for current members and Moo Duk Kwan® Alumni to join the 100+ members who are already registered to attend the 70th. I look forward to joining you at this celebration and experiencing a most memorable event.
The Moo Duk Kwan® culture will be strengthened and enriched because of your active participation.
If you are planning to present demonstrations at the 70th Anniversary celebration, the first video submission of your demonstration should be uploaded to the Soo Bahk Do Institute by May 1, 2015. Detailed video submission instructions are here.
Your demonstration video will be reviewed by World Moo Duk Kwan Technical Advisory Committee members and feedback provided via comments on the Soo Bahk Do Institute.
I will be visiting Korea to conduct the 135th Dan Shim Sa as well as working on progress of the 70th Moo Duk Kwan anniversary preparations and will provide updates to you on upon my return from Korea.
I have received some questions about the PVT II (Your Personal Vision Tour) and its objectives. The PVT II initiative originated from my thoughts about inspiring, educating, motivating and transitioning our younger leaders into roles that are important to the preservation of our art and the future of the Moo Duk Kwan®.
In other words, we need to create opportunities for our younger generation of leaders to carry the future of the Art and we need to strengthen them in following areas with their focus on “Share The ART”.
- Moo Duk Kwan® Identity
- understanding it's origins and how to effectively preserve it in modern world
- Teaching Skills
- to better transmit our art from instructor to student and generation to generation
- How to run a successful Do Jang both in quality ART and sound business practices
- to attract more prospects to our schools and encourage them to become students of our art
There are a number of Young Leaders who are the results of PVT II and who have become successful in their promotion of our art. Your active participation and support of PVT II can inspire, educate and motivate many more of them who can make the Moo Duk Kwan® future much brighter.
I welcome your thoughts and questions regarding success of the PVT II.
Yours in Moo Duk Kwan,
H. C. Hwang
