Remembering the "Warrior-Scholar" Our Great Grandmaster Hwang Kee 2021

It has been 19 years since the passing of the Founder, and Great Grandmaster Hwang Kee.  It is important to pay tribute to him and the art he has left us all.  Below is a video prepared several years ago by Araeipour Sa Bom Nim.  It is from the Soo Bahk Do Institute.

The photos below are courtesy of Lemner Sa Bom Nim, Admin for the World Moo Duk Kwan Facebook Website.  The founder's first demonstration of Hwa Sun Hyung from the Moo Yei Do Bo Tong Ji at the 4th Internationals in Atlantic city in 1982. He is performing Mae Bok Seh in this photo.

The founder's first Hwa Sun Hyung demonstration at the 4th Internationals. Chung Il Kim (475), HC Hwang (509), Myung Seok Seo (2322), and Russ Hanke (4137) are kneeling to observe.

On July 14, 2002, we lost a true martial artist, Warrior-Scholar, and creative leader and Founder of the "Moo Duk Kwan®."

Since his passing many Country member nations take time to remember his lifelong contributions by holding special classes, memorial events and of course, groups performing Kicho hyung Il Bu (Basic Form 1).  And of course, it is never too late to remember our Founder.

If you were not aware, Senior Ko Dan Ja and other Masters put together a timeline of the Founder's history several years ago, that history is available to read,  see and hear on the World Moo Duk Kwan® History site.  Below is the link that will take you to the Founder's timeline page.

We urge everyone, current Country members, Heritage Program members, and anyone who was ever associated with the Moo Duk Kwan® to take a moment to read his history and impact on the martial arts world.

Respectfully remembering our Late Great Grandmaster Kee Hwang, may he continued to rest in peace.

In Moo Do, Forever grateful,

Roberto Bonefont, Sr., #13927
