The Integrated Communications System

Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang has recently approved a plan that will improve the dissemination of official World Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence among the member country organizations.

The program, led by Larry Seiberlich Sa Bom Nim, is titled the Integrated Communications System (ICS), which was presented at the World Symposium this past June. The intent of the plan is to improve the release of official correspondence across all World Moo Duk Kwan® sites to better integrate the consistency and content of messages and publications.

To bring the ICS to life, the next step will be the selection of country National Communications Directors who will be oriented and trained to process communications through routing protocols that ensure the quality and appropriateness of official Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence. Specifically, the ICS Plan addresses several issues that will benefit all member Federations. The following is a brief synopsis of the plan’s intent.

The ICS Plan exists to support and manage official information flow across all 23 Moo Duk Kwan® nations and will be supported by the ICS via National Communication Directors. These Directors will be proactive by assisting, guiding, and authorizing official national publications across all social and official communications. This will ensure aligned content that supports and promotes World Moo Duk Kwan® Intellectual Property and provide a congruent look and feel.

The ICS Plan provides a structured guiding process with standard procedures, providing an integrated approach for public facing communication, including official web sites, official social media sites, and official multimedia presentations that exist to showcase the rich history, philosophy, tradition, and technique of the Moo Duk Kwan®.

The ICS plan provides the National Communication Directors tools so they can provide guidance on the following:

  • Authorization: The ICS Plan will provide guidance on who is authorized to publish official Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence.
  • Frequency: The ICS Plan will specify how often official Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence should be published.
  • Format: The ICS Plan will specify the format of official Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence.
  • Target audience: The ICS Plan will specify the target audience for official Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence.
  • Functionality: The ICS Plan will specify the functionality of official Moo Duk Kwan® correspondence.

The ICS Plan also notes that there are both official and many unofficial social media and web presences across the World Moo Duk Kwan® membership. The plan does not directly address the activity of unofficial sites, but it aims to influence them by setting an example with the official sites. The plan also aims to educate independent publishers about ICS policies and protocols.
